Dear St. Vincent-St. Mary Community,

Thank you for your support of and interest in St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. It is because of caring, involved individuals like yourself that our school has continued to thrive for over a century. Whether you are a prospective student, a current student, an alum, a parent, or just a friend and supporter, our school community is stronger and better because of you. For that, I thank you.

Our school has a rich tradition and a strong history of excellence. As Principal, my number one job is to continue that legacy by providing to our students the best education and high school experience possible. My vision for our school, then, is two-fold: tradition and innovation. Tradition is where we come from, our roots as the first Catholic high school founded in the Akron area, and our history of success in so many aspects of the educational experience. Innovation is where we are going, our continual striving to do even better at what we have consistently done well - educating the whole person. With these two pillars to guide us, I am certain that with your continued help and support our school and community will continue to thrive.

We have so much to offer our students and our community, as perfectly captured in our mission statement: our strong academic program challenges our students and enlightens their minds; our countless athletic victories and successes are a key aspect of developing the body; our loving community environment combined with numerous opportunities for involvement within this community help to touch the heart; and our Catholic heritage provides the riches of our religious tradition to inspire our students' souls as they form a personal relationship with Christ. This is who we are and what we do.

What can you do to help ensure that our continued excellence is a reality? I ask that you share the good news about STVM. Our theme for the 2016-17 school year is directly related to this: "Sharing Our Story." It is the call of our school to share who we are with the wider world and our call as members of a Catholic community to share the good news of the Gospel. My hope is that everyone connected to STVM will take part in "sharing our story" by bringing the good news of STVM to the wider community. Promote STVM in your words and actions and help us generate excitement about all the great things going on here. Doing this will help to take our school even further and increase the positive impact that we can make. I thank you for all you do to support our community and promote it, as together, we can ensure that the future of STVM is even brighter than the past.

Go, Irish!
