13 STVM Student-Athletes Commit to Continue Academic and Athletic Careers at Next Level

On Tuesday, April 25, we recognized those members of the senior class who have made an athletic commitment to continue their career at the collegiate level next year. Thirteen student-athletes committed to a very impressive list of schools.

Mason Bilinovich will be a three year letterman for the Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team. Mason is an integral member of our team. Mason is the son of Natalie and Brandon Bilinovich, lives in Clinton, Ohio and attended St. Vincent. Mason is committing to Palm Beach Atlantic University, where he will continue his lacrosse career.

Patrick Finger will be a three year letterman for the Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team. Patrick is the goalie, Patrick is the son of Dr. Mary Ann Devine and Craig Finger, and resides in Stow and attended Holy Family. Patrick is committing to Walsh University where he will continue his lacrosse career.

Jacob Horning will be a two year letterman for the Varsity Baseball Team and was a member of the 2016 Regional Finalist Team. Jacob is a pitcher. Jacob is the son of Mark and Pam Horning, lives in Stow, Ohio and attended Holy Family Grade School. He is committing to Bethany College where he will continue his baseball career,

Mitchell Kirk is a three year letterman on the Boys Soccer Team and a member of the 2016 Regional Finalist Team. MItchell is an attacking midfielder. MItchell is the son of Mike and Beth Kirk, lives in Fairlawn, Ohio, and attended Copley MIddle School. MItchell is committing to Mount Union, where he will continue his soccer career.

Michael Martin will be a three year letterman for the Varsity Baseball Team and a member of the 2016 Regional Finalist Team. Michael is a pitcher and an outfielder. Michael is the son of Maureen and Brian, lives in Doylestown, and attended Chippewa Middle School. Michael is committing to Wittenberg University, where he will continue his baseball career.

Patrick McFarland will be a two year letterman for the Varsity Baseball Team and a member of the 2016 Regional Finalist Team. Patrick is a pitcher and an infielder. Patrick is the son of Melanie MIrande, lives in Wadsworth, Ohio and attended Sacred Heart School. Patrick is committing to Otterbein University, where he will continue his baseball career.

Connor McIntyre is a four year letterman on the Cross Country and Track and Field Team. Connor is is 2016 and 2016 Academic All-Ohio member, Connor runs the mile and the 800 meter race. Connor is the son of Kelly and Eric, lives in Cuyahoga Falls, and attended St. Joseph Grade School. Connor is committing to John Carroll University, where he will continue his running career.

Nicholas Michel will be a two year letterman on the Varsity Baseball Team and was a member for the 2016 Regional Finalist Team. Nicholas is the son of Danielle, lives in Akron, Ohio and attended North Akron Catholic. Nick is committing to John Carroll University, where he will continue his baseball career.

Kaitlin Oplinger is a three year letterman on the Varsity Cheer Team. She is an All-American, was a member of the 2015 OASSA State Championship Team. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Kim and Mike, lives in Silver Lake, Ohio and attended IHM. Kaitlyn is committing to Florida Gulf Coast, where she will continue her cheerleading career.

Payton Pooler is a four year letterman for the Varsity Girls Basketball Team and was a member of the 2014 State Finalist Team. Payton is also a member of the 2015 4400 State Championship Relay Team. Payton scored 700 career points for the Irish. Payton is the daughter of Megan and Cameron Pooler, lives in Ravenna, Ohio and attended Brown Middle School. Payton is committing to Walsh University to continue her basketball career.

Kendall Shadie will be a three year letterman for the Track and Field Team and was a member of the 2016 4200 State Championship Relay Team. Kendall participates in sprint events for the Irish. Kendall is the son of Tnetta and Gary Shadie, lives in Akron, Ohio and attended Litchfield. Kendall is committing to Mount Union, where he will continue his track and field career.

Tim Sims will be a three year letterman for the Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team. Tim is a defender. Tim is the son of Crissy and Rick Sims, lives in Wadsworth, Ohio and attended Wadsworth Middle School. Tim is committing to Walsh University where he will continue his lacrosse career.
