Date Posted: March 18, 2017

Congratulations to the STVM Mock Trial Team that was a finalist in the Ohio Council for Law-Related Education (OCLRE) State Competition on March 9-11 in Columbus Ohio. The team won three trials to earn a berth in the Final Four before being defeated in the semi-final trial. Of the hundreds of teams that participated across the state beginning in January, our STVM attorneys and witnesses made it to being one of the three best schools in the state (two teams in the final four were from Indian Hills High School). The team received a plaque for being a state finalist.

Earning special awards were junior Olivia Janolo--best witness; junior Cydnee Livingston--best witness; senior Juliana Stierl, best attorney; and sophomore Olivia Gupta--two best attorney awards. Other members of the team include senior Rose Carlyon and Patrick McFarland; juniors Alex Albanese, Nick Corwin and Michael Dianetti; sophomore Natalie Wammes; and freshmen Madison Glenn-Lawson and Maggie McCarron.

Coaches are Summit County Domestic Relations Court Judge Katarina Cook and 9th District Court of Appeals Judge Lynne Callahan. Team facilitators are Ms. Pam Godshalk and Ms. Rebecca McGonigle.
