Eleven new scholarships established through GAR Matching Grant
The Annual Family & Memorial Scholarship Dinner is always a cause for celebration, as our donors have an opportunity to meet the students who are benefiting from their generosity. This year’s dinner, was held on May 11, 2009, and was even more special.
In February 2008, STVM received a $210,000 grant from the GAR Foundation. Of this grant, $170,000 was allocated for tuition assistance endowment, and up to $40,000 was allocated in matching monies to grow and/or to establish new Family & Memorial Scholarships.
Between the GAR Foundation and the generosity of our donors, a total of $350,000 was raised. Even more impressive, from February 2008 to March 2009, 11 new Family & Memorial Scholarships were established.
