Boarman Backers Permanent Sign Unveiled at John Cistone Field/Green Street Stadium

Supporters of STVM recgonized with permanent display

The Boarman Backer club was established in the Spring of 2007 to support the efforts of all Irish athletic programs.

Naming opportunities were established and offered at John Cistone Field/Green Street Stadium and the Field House. "It has been a joy to see who wanted to remember their loved ones here at the stadium. If you look around, many people will remember Jim Kelly, Pete Burg, Jim Pier, just to name a few. And now, their names will be remembered and recognized for generations to come. That's the spirit of the Irish tradition," said Joanne Zaratsian, Director of Major Gifts.

Boarman Backers were invited to many socials that were held in the Eddie Wentz Room over the course of the past two years. They enjoyed refreshments, viewed highlight films and had a chance to meet and greet the coaches. One final "exclusive" Boarman Backer social was held prior to the unveiling and Father Kraker blessed the permanent sign. The Fighting Irish Band was on hand for the unveiling, which was held in the stadium plaza entranceway on November 12, 2008.

Naming rights will continue to be sold for pennants in the concourse area for $5,000 and bleachers for $2,000. For more information, contact Joanne Zaratsian (330) 253-9113 ext. 112.

As of October 22, 2008 - $135,000 raised plus over $10,000 in-kind donations.
