Dear Alumni and Friends,

As a member of the St. Vincent-St. Mary community, you know personally the value of the education we provide to our students. STVM is a non-profit, independent school and depends on the Green & Gold Annual Appeal to provide vital support for the school’s annual operating budget. STVM strives to keep tuition low while offering financial aid and scholarships to students in need. Like all independent schools and colleges, our tuition never fully covers our operating expenses. In fact, the cost to educate each child exceeds the cost of tuition by 15%. The STVM Green & Gold Annual Appeal helps us keep tuition as low as possible so that a STVM education remains affordable for the families we serve, while sustaining our tradition of academic excellence.

This is also why your gift to the Green & Gold Annual Appeal is so critical. The Green & Gold Annual Appeal is more than a yearly fundraiser – it is our lifeline – and it represents an essential and much needed source of annual income. These annual donations secure the future of our long tradition of academic excellence through support of the annual operating budget.

We rely on annual donations to help meet shortfalls between tuition and the actual cost to educate each STVM student. Green & Gold Annual Appeal donations go to work right away during the current fiscal year. Your annual tax-deductible investment immediately strengthens our general operating budget and financial aid and scholarships offerings (unlike our recently concluded Share the Vision Capital Campaign that funded capital and strategic needs like bricks and mortar and support of Endowment). Your gift is vitally important because it allows STVM to:

• Continue and improve our outstanding academic offerings.
• Provide financial support to students in need.
• Continue to attract and to retain the best faculty and staff.
• Secure our St. Mary, St. Vincent, and St. Vincent-St. Mary traditions and heritage for the next generation.
• Maintain our recently expanded campus while being careful stewards of the monies that are entrusted to us.
